How to Win A Race.

Take a page from a runner in a race. You spend all the time before the race preparing yourself to be successful. There is already a set and determined time to meet. You know that you have say 3 weeks to train in order to run well. You take the time to lose weight and make sure your body is in the best shape possible. Your diet is adjusted to suit your need for strength and endurance. You change your schedule in order to get proper rest and make the best use of your time. You spend all this time in preparation for something that will be over in less than an hour and  that will yield a temporary material although symbolic prize. Isn’t it ironic how we sometimes forget this same type of preparation and dedication to our health when it comes to spiritual and mental development? This life we are living in is a race also, even though it is a race with ourselves only. There are weights and hindrances that to be released and let go. There are needs for diets from people that seem to always pull from us rather than edify our lives. Our diet of bad habits in things like unhealthy relationships, unethical practices, dishonest tendencies, and unprofitable activities will cause us to become fat and full of dead and life threatening weight. Spending your time with the wrong people will cause you and me to miss out on our designed purpose and destiny. Much of what we accomplish comes out of the maintaining a level and healthy state of mind. Individuals who are not ready for change or who have accepted they present situation as final regardless of its contents cannot feed into your life for growth. There is a releasing that needs to take place and a continual growing process. Refuse and ignore the urge to stay planted in one place where there is no growth. Watch and learn the pattern of a thing or person. If it is not moving, improving, changing or growing it is time to abandon it right away. Time is limited for us all, and there is little available for foolishness. Let ‘em go and do it today. Your gifts are not tide up in the opinions and values of another unbelieving and unmotivated individual. I don’t care how long you’ve been friends or what they given to you in times past. They have reached a point of restricted growth, and cannot fathom your hopes, dreams and vision for advancement. What lies ahead for you is still laying there waiting to be picked up just as soon as you let that weight go and properly prepare to win the race!

“You’ve got the Touch of Life” – Healing, Helping & Holding

Show somebody how much you care about them today. It is not important that they return the gesture back to you, but that what is inside of you is shared. We are never sure of what this day or tomorrow will bring to us or to those we care about, but what we do know is that love is eternal yet the ability to touch a person is not. Be sure and give a hug, hold a hand, kiss a cheek, calm a nerve, speak a word, and share a gift with the ones who mean the most to you. What has been is gone and what’s to come is unknown. I’d rather see your love them know of it and never get a chance to feel it. We don’t touch, talk or take time anymore. That’s what is missing. In Psychology class I learned that a newborn baby can literally die from the lack of human touch and attention. There is an innate need for feeling the warmth of another human beings hand. You and I are human beings and the world is full of hurting and dying people. Not only dieing physically, but giving up on dreams and hopes for a better tomorrow. You and I, we’ve got the answer. Let’s share what’s been given to us and change the world.

My tribute to Pastor Arthur Strong, Sr. … Part-2 : Leader, Friend, Teacher & Father

I arrived in Arizona in September of 1993 getting ready to start my college experience. My Father had just become pastor of the church I grew up in back in Northern CA. A friend of mine from high school decided to start school early in
Arizona so we arranged to share an apartment upon my arrival. I remember going to a youth concert or fellowship the weekend I got to phoenix. I remember that night oh so well. I had met many of the people who I would come to know in the months ahead. I met a few guys who told me about Pastor Strong’s church and that I needed to go check out his incredibly anointed son on the organ. I decided to visit that Sunday and that was it for me. After about a week or two I became a member. I felt so welcome the moment I got to Faith Tabernacle COGIC. It was a spirit filled place and I new without a doubt it was the place to be for me. The place was full of young people. And I did not know it then but my experience at Faith Tabernacle would be one that would ultimately mold my life. I needed to be there, and I needed to hear and learn everything I learned from Pastor Strong. His teaching style was raw, uncut and unedited. There were humorous moments, and then there were extremely serious ones almost to the point of fear. Pastor Strong loved the Lord and loved the people that that God had placed in his care to shepherd, both young and old. I never felt like I didn’t belong there or that my age (18) was a factor. At one point I was teaching an Adult Sunday School class which shows just how much he thought of utilizing the gifts regardless of the age. His family was and still is a blessed and anointed one. Every occasion I’ve had to experience their ministries, either together or individually, I have been blessed immensely. All of his children are examples of the best that the
kingdom of God has to offer. They all excel in their gifts in music, professionalism, and ministry. I have continued to insist that my time spent in Arizona watching and learning was a key part of making me whatever I am today. It was a crucial point and a pivotal milestone in my life and I am eternally grateful for the life of Pastor Arthur Strong Sr. My family and I will always feel blessed to be able to share any part of the fruits of his labor. Thank you for your faithfulness Pastor. Enter thou into the reward set aside for you and the joy of the Lord!

I have fought the good fight. I have finished the course. I have kept the faith.Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”

2 Timothy 4:7,8

My tribute: Pastor Arthur Strong Sr., “Leader & Friend”

My tribute….Part-1

Today we are mourning the loss, while also celebrating the home going of our beloved friend, and leader Pastor Arthur Strong Sr. I am truly a product of the great life, ministry and legacy of this man. I met him during my time in college in Phoenix Arizona. He became my Pastor during that time and an immediate friend. I am definitely going to miss Pastor Strong but will always be blessed to have experienced his integrity and genuine compassion. I salute the entire Strong family and today am saying a prayer for their comfort and strength. You all are jewels to the body of Christ and great examples to mankind. I love you all!

God Bless you Mother Strong & the Entire Strong family,

 Min. Kenny Martin Jr.
