Truley Bishop Gilbert Patterson was a humble and loving servant sent by our lord to preach and proclaim victory in salvation through jesus christ. The world has been blessed to have a leader and a loving man of god such as him.As we take this time to remember god’s servant let us that believe in our lord and savior jesus christ that the work is not done and many people need to hear the word of god.Even while our bishop was sick his faith did not waver. He lead by example and we must do the same.May god bless you.GOD keep the Patterson and the Church of god in christ family in your care. WELL DONE THY GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT !!!!!!

Lovingly and sadly we must say good-bye to one of God most humble and loyal servant. A man who knew no boundary when it came to the word of God and the people of God. Presiging Bishop Gilbert Earl Patterson ministry reached beyond every denomination and enter into the hearts of the people. He was not just a Bishop or Preacher to the COGIC, but he was God’s servant and man of the hour to the world. I know that our Heavenly Father called him home for a reason, and I am equally sure when He made the call, he said Gilbert come on home, job well done. My Mother went home in 2004 with love for Bishop Patterson in her heart. In her own words “that is truly a man of God.” To the family, thank you so munch for sharing Bishop with us. We will continue to hold you dearly in our heart in prayer and in love; we could not love and appreciate Bishop without loving you.

    Heartfelt Sympathy,

Bishop Patterson will be sorely missed. He possessed the gift of being intellectual and spiritual. He also had the ability to be cutting edge and yet held on to the great traditions that built our church. Let us all pray for his family and our great Church of God in Christ

My Prayers and sympathy go out to Mrs. Patterson and her family. I have watched Bishop Patterson for years on the televison. I even visited the Bountiful Blessings Church when it was located in Detroit, Michigan. Just know that God is able to help you through this time of sorrow, because we know that his body will be missed but to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord, and I truly belive that he is with the Lord. The Lord is just like us , HE ONLY WANTS THE BEST!

May God continue to bless and keep you and may his eyes shine upon you.

“For we know that if our earthyly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a buildeing of GOD, an huse not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.” 2nd Corinthians 5:1

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ,

Oh how my heart was heavy with saddness to hear the passing of our great leader Bishop Gilbert Earl Patterson. He through Christ Jesus has carried the Church of God in Christ through many a perilous times, his prayer and faithfulness will never be forgotten in the Church. I just thank GOD that I lived to be touched by and experience the annoiting of this man of GOD. Praise GOD from whom all blessings flow for we know that this is not the end but yet the beginning of the new life, Hallelujah Glory to GOD for his life and legacy!!! To Mother Patterson and the family I am yet feverently praying for all of you because he was more then just he Bishop he was your husband, your father, your brother, and I know just like he touch his COGIC family he touched all of you. Keep leaning on the promises of GOD, in the words of Bishop O.T. Jones Jr. “Don’t stop praying” This is praying time saints, the leaders of the church are going home, and we need to step up to the plate and begin to petition heaven like never before. Let us also pray for Bishop Charles E. Blake as the mantle has fallen on his shoulders to lead the church, he needs our prayers. He has been given a great task by GOD and we want him to know that he has our support and our prayers. Lets unite saints, it’s time to bring things together. We love Bishop Patterson and we know we will see you again on that great day

Although I am not of the COGIC faith, I have followed Bishop Patterson for many years. Very recently I heard in a sermon preached by Bishop Patterson: “When the dust settles.” This set me free of several problems I was encountering. Praise God for such a Vessel of Honor as Bishop Patterson. Love and blessings to First Lady Patterson.

To the family and church family, may God forever keep you. We have lossed a wonderful God sent man.

To the Patterson family and especially the lovely First Lady Patterson; we pray for you and send our warmest heartfelt condolences. Your beauty, strenght and grace will endure as you reflect for all of us the strength of God’s loving care during times of intolerable pain. Bishop Patterson was a rare gift to humanity. With unyeilding clarity he gave clear teachings about the meaning of becoming Christian and was never afraid to clearly explain who Jesus Christ is. He stopped to instruct us about biblical choices for today’s living. He believed in the empowering in-filling of the Holy Ghost. He was great with names and remembering people. He made you feel that you mattered to him, the church and the Lord. He loved to sing, was a great praiser/worshipper, a buiilder, author, truly a 21st century pioneer. He was unashamedly devoted to his wife and family. He believed and practiced what he preached. We are all better because the Lord sent him to us at this time and for our times.

I remember my husband watching Bishop Patterson one Sunday eveninig. We were on the verge of a divorce and Bishop was preaching on being washed in the powerful of Jesus. My husband was living deep in sin but at the end of the broadcast, he threw his hands up and said YES Lord! We are now ministering together. We will certainly miss the Bishop as that was our appointment to sit together and hear a word from the Lord. My prayers are with you. Remember God takes pleasure in the death of his saints.

  12. 13 Willie P. & Leola Barclay Jr. March 26, 2007 at 11:58 am

Bishop Patterson’s proclamation and deliverance of God’s word inspired our entire family to become better servants of God. From the first time we heard him preach, we immediately knew that he lived the life he preached.

To Sis L. Patterson and family, our prayers are with you at this time. Bishop Patterson was a wonderful servant of GOD! My husband, Joe and I have watched him on television for many years, it was part of what we did on Sunday afternoons when we got home from church. If we were not going to be home, we set the sermon to be recorded.

It was a blessing to see you and Bishop Patterson at the International Women’s convention in Dallas this past year. I always looked forward to Bishop Patterson being part of Bishop Haynes Holy April meetings. We will miss you Bishop Patterson!!

Sister Patterson, I know you can feel the prayers of the saints, lifting you up and asking God’s riches blessings on you, his sisters and other family memebers. Please know that Bishop Patterson will be missed, but, never ever forgotten.

    In Jesus Holy Name,

Wait on the Lord and be of good courage; He will strengthen your heart. In the 55th. division of Psalms, verse 6 the psalmist wrote: Oh that I had wings like a dove! for then I would fly away and be at rest. I know that everything is well with Bishop’s soul. To the family of one of the greatest prophets I have ever witnessed, It is my desire that God’s Choice Blessings be bestowed upon you in this difficult time.

To the Patterson Family & Saints-
God has taken his child home. Every Sunday Bishop Patterson taught us to run the race, so that when that day comes, and God calls you home, there is now doubt, as to where you will spend eternity. Sis. Patterson, the loss you must feel is tremendous and my heart goes out to you. You not only lost your best friend and husband, but you lost your Pastor. May God give you strength and courage in the darkest hour and comfort you always. The Saints are praying for you all across the world and in McKinney, Texas.

This years Holy Convention in Dallas won’t be the same without him. He is truly an inspiring man, and had a word for the Saints and Sinners.

May God bless you and keep you always!

Oh what a blessing this Man of God has been for me and my houshold. Watching him before going to worship services on Sunday mornings and later on looking at that same service helped me to reach higher heights in the Lord. With my DVD library I will continue to be able to hear that voice preach the unadulterated Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Jesus Christ. May the blessings of the Lord be upon his family now for Bishop Patterson has ran his “HUNDRED”.

Truly, his Ministry will be missed.

Weaping may endureth for a night but joy cometh in the morning. Truly we have lost an awesome man of God. We loved him but God loved him best. Cherish the memories for Bishop Patterson. Please don’t be sad. He fought the fight, ran his course. Now, he is rejoicing with the Lord. I am just so happy to have been able to hear some of his preaching, teaching, and songs. He was a true saint and I hope that you, your family, and the Temple of Deliverance will rejoice during this time knowing that you had such a great man of God as your leader. Be encouraged and be Blessed.

To the Family of Bishop Patterson,

Years ago I used to make sure I would be up in time to catch the Bishop on television everday at noon. Back then I worked evenings so hearing him each day gave me the boost I would need to get through each day. Eventually he was no longer on at that time so it was kind of hit and miss. However one thing is for sure, he always had a word…and he always delivered it with all his might. I never had the opportunity to meet him, but I could feel his passion for God and His people in every message.

We who have been touched by his life will miss him greatly. But saints be encouraged…this is what we live for…to be called home to be with our Father in Heaven. He is where we long to be! Take courage in that.

I thank his family as well as his church family for freely sharing him with the world at large…I don’t think you will ever truly realized just how many lives he has touched.

Praise God for the life and legacy of Bishop Gilbert Earl Patterson

We send our prayers and well wishes out to Mother Patterson and the Patterson Family, to the Temple of Deliverence Church Family, and to the entire membership of Churches of God in Christ International around the globe.
Yes, one of God’s greatest preachers of all times has been called from labor unto rest. Bishop Gilbert Earl Patterson preaching and teachings exceeded the territory of denominational boundaries into the desolate area of God’s Truth. A man that was COGIC to the bones, but yet acknowledged the fact that denominations don’t get you into The Kingdom,… But you have to be HEALED!… BE DELIVERED!!
…and BE SET FREE!!! Dear GOD thank you for sending such a man in such a time as this.
