“What to do When your Brook Runs Dry” which was about the story of Elijah by the brook Cherith that had run dry. Bishop Patterson compared the brook to a church, job, person etc. that no longer feeds you and/or meets your need and encouraged us to not be afraid to move on to a place that meets our needs.

“David’s Day of Thanksgiving” was my favorite. I called yesterday to order several more. The order takers were praying with such fervor I wished I could have been there.

As a toddler I was fortunate to have been reared in the Temple of Deliverance, as an almost 34 year old lady, I can safely say I have had the atmosphere and the surroundings of Bishop and the Temple of Deliverance(my grandparents were appointed officials in the church)it was my home away from home, I know we spent 20,25 hours in church. I have heard a lot of sermons!! I have heard him give historically lessons amidst a sermon, things that I would have never learned in school, like the black out back in the WWII days or that he was at Mason temple when Dr. King deliverd the I have a dream speech, or to tell you the proper way to the order of things, whow to carry your self, or to teach you how to rejoice in the wonders of God and to actually feeled blessed and priveleged to be in the elite of those who where proud to proclaim That we are HAPPY to serve our heavenly father. It was something about the delivery in his sermons, the way he would grasp you attention with something funny to say, and then would say “now that I have your attention turn with me if you will to the book of……”! He taught you how to have self confidence and not to worry about sister dofunny or brother Igotthis, people on the job, or school, he taught you how to seek the Holy Ghost how to revive family relations or to understanding the calling on your life how to read and interpret the scripture. We would have Tuesday Morning services just as fiery as none other, he would be annointing, or we would walk around the church like the “Walls of Jericho”! There were too many too many, I have been up and down the highways with my Grandparents, aunts cousins going to hear “Apostle”! and then be back in time to hear again on Sunday 7am service. I had an aunt who lived in Detroit and I honestly believed that my Grandmother would plan our trips around when ever he was going to be in the church in Detroit! So they were drilled in me By the time he would get to “THE SAME JESUS, THAT DELIVERED DANIEL FROM THE LION’S DEN”! I would be in tears, Church was an experience! When I was small the church was small, the older I got, the bigger the church got, something pure about Bishop simply led “The Common Folk” hear him gladly! I said all of that, to say this I can not be partial, because he taught well!

“Call His Name” and “A Message on Faith”

Both of those messages expressed foundations of truth for my life as a Believer in Jesus Christ. They were masterfully preached sermons with great detail, content and POWER! For those and almost any other message I heard from Bishop G. E. Patterson, I am grateful. He was an awesome preacher, adminsitrator, visionary servant of God and role model.

One more thing…. I always fell out laughing when Bishop Patterson would say “Well… here is another message that you need to add to your library.” It was funny because he must have know that by the end of those broadcasts we were all hollerin and bout to fall out.

    It always made me smile.

Blessed be the name of the Lord.

Prior to Bishop Patterson’s death I had only been watching his televised sermons on Sunday evenings on TBN for three years with my little grandson “Elijah” who is now three years old. Elijah was just an infant when I started watching Bishop Patterson. Often I would leave my family and go into my bedroom to watch the late great Bishop Patterson; however, when Elijah heard Bishop Patterson’s voice he would crawl into my room and demand to sit in my lap to watch Bishop. As Elijah grew older and started to talk he just knew when it was time for Bishop to come on TBN and he would say to me “MaMa its time for church.” I have prayed and I will continue to pray that Bishop’s anointing came through the airwave and fell on my grandsons and many, many, many, grandsons. What an awesome memory I have of Bishop Patterson and Elijah- and how awesomely wonderful I have been blessed by this dynamic man of God. Bishop Patterson. He is not dead – He is absence from the body and in the presence of God!

Mrs. Patterson I love you! I am praying for God to uphold you continuously with His righteous right hand as you go endure the transitation of Bishop Patterson from earth to heaven.

One of my favorite sermons by The Late Bishop G E Patterson was a thanksgiving day message When I Get Inside Of The Gate. I am a young man who grew up in a holiness church and when I tell you the only to describe his styler of preaching is annoited and Holy Ghost filled. when your motto is Be Healed Be Delivered Be Set Free you have to live up to expectations. GOD Blessed us with the presence of a gentle giant. let his works speak for him. not the hear say now that he cant speak for himself.
God Bless The Patterson family and allsaints that
    were blessed by his teaching

SURROUNDED BY ENEMIES, BUT “GOD” DELIVERED -PSALMS 3: 1-8, WHAT A POWERFUL MESSAGE

My family bought the album of the broadcast and kept it for years. I’m not quite sure where it is now. The Year was 1967. I first heard it on radio station WDIA. “God’s Faithful Promise”. Near the beginning was, “What is the promise…’As I was with Moses, so I will be with thee'”. And then near end… “And I’m not worried, he didn’t leave the promise with Joshua, alone”. I’m not a saint or even a regular parishoner, but I can still recite certain stanzas of that sermon. It was, in a word…. brilliant!

Greetings to all, my favorite sermon(s) delivered by Bishop Patterson was, “The Prayer of Jabez” “Meeting at the Pool” “HELP” & most of all “The Lord Expects Your Praise!!” Bishop Patterson was my hero and he was the only reason why I paid so much attention to the National Church, and I was more the happy to attend his Fri & Sat. services for his homegoing with my pastor the Bishop Barnett K. Thoroughgood former Adjutant General of the Church of God in Christ and pastor of the New Jerusalem COGIC in Virginia Beach VA.
